Agriculture is a science and practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products. So what should we do if we want to start farming ? First you should to know about the condition and quality of soil, what plants are suitable to the soil, how you take care of your crops, and how you deal with the pests and weeds. It may sounds confusing, but don’t worry! In this modern day, there is a mobile app that will answer all of your questions. The app is called : MyAgri.


MyAgri is a mobile based application for ubiquitous learning via android for a review of Indonesian Farmers in cooperation WITH BALITSA (Vegetable Crops Research). The mobile app was released by Erlangga studio on 2016. Interested? You can download this application easily on Google Play. This app doesn’t consume a lot of your precious memory, so you don’t have to worry about that. After you have finished downloading the application, it is very easy to operate the application. Here’s the sneak peek of the app!

At the first look we can see 11 menus that you can interact with. Each of the menus have different function and information. Let’s dive deeper into the content of each menus:

  1. Information varieties of vegetables

    You will get various kinds of vegetables and the characteristic (in one plant how much is produced, average weight, how long it can be stored, in any temperature the plant can survive, potential production, etch)


  1. Information cultivation

    You will get information about seeds, seedlings, soil preparation, fertilizing, planting, maintenance, pest control, harvest and post-harvest.


  1. Information calculate fertilizer plant

    Just input the commodity, kind of fertilizer and land area, then click “ Proses “, and the result will come out.


  1. Information familiar with plant pests and diseases of vegetables.

    You will get the picture of plant pests and diseases of vegetables and the impact.


  1. The introduction of pests and innovation cultivation.

    You will get all information about pests and innovation cultivation here.


  1. Pesticide.

    You can write the OPT or commodity –or both of them– then click “Cari” and BOOM! The result will come out as soon as you click it.

Although this mobile app is still developing, the information which provided inside this app is very useful to farmers who plant vegetables to meet their ends. With this mobile app, we do hope very much that it will help local farmers in Indonesia to solve  problems that occurs on their farm and increase their welfare. Agritalk! No Farmers No Life.
