Thirdly, environmental sustainability plays a vital role. A successful implementation of smart farming should reduce the negative impact on the environment. This can be achieved through reduced chemical usage, water conservation, and adoption of sustainable agricultural practices, safeguarding natural ecosystems.
Furthermore, the profitability of farmers is a crucial aspect. A successful smart farming implementation should lower production costs, boost productivity, and optimize farm management practices, ultimately leading to improved financial returns for farmers.
Lastly, the adoption of technology and innovation in smart farming practices is a key determinant of success. Wide-scale adoption and continuous advancements in utilizing smart farming technologies demonstrate the successful implementation of smart farming. It is important to note that the success of smart farming implementation may vary depending on factors such as technological infrastructure, accessibility, farmer education and training, and supportive policies from governments and related sectors.
Facing the threat of a food crisis, the government needs to strengthen agricultural production and local food availability to replace imported food commodities with smart farming or smart farming 4.0.
